The Chisinau City Hall informs that on Wednesday, in the Great National Assembly Square, 16 high-capacity, "Solaris Urbino 18" model buses, recently purchased by the municipality, were launched on the routes.

They will be distributed and will replace several urban and suburban routes, including lines no. 23, 33, 46 etc. The batch of buses was purchased from Sweden, and the cost of one unit is 41.9 thousand Euros, which also includes delivery.

The buses are articulated, having a length of 18 meters and a boarding capacity of about 160 people. The units also have a low floor and access ramp for people with reduced mobility, air conditioning system, Wi-Fi, GPS and video monitoring system.

Present at the event, the General Mayor, Ion Ceban, declared that through this purchase of buses, the municipality contributes to increasing the degree of accessibility of the municipality's residents to quality transport services. Thus, the buses will be distributed on lines requested by the residents of Durlești, Codru, Dumbrava, Bubuieci, etc.

These units represent a modern and sustainable solution for urban transport. We remind you that, during the years 2020-2022, Chisinau City Hall purchased 174 buses and 85 trolleybuses to increase the quality of municipal transport services, in the city and in the suburbs.
