The Chisinau City Hall informs about the annulment of the decision of the Chisinau Municipal Council regarding the approval of the Zonal Urban Plan regarding the capitalization of the land on Vasile Alecsandri Street, 4 (former Gaudeamus cinema).

A document in this regard was adopted today by local elected officials, during the extraordinary meeting of the CMC, at the request of Ion Ceban, the General Mayor.

Following the re-examination of the zonal urban plan in order to change the functional destination of the land, several deviations from the normative framework in force were detected.

At the same time, when elaborating the current ZUP, the information regarding the environmental aspects was not taken into account; the neighborhoods of the area and the existing balance of the area; the description of the structure and condition of all the buildings in the studied complex areas is missing, and the dysfunctions and priorities are not described.

According to Ion Ceban, the General Mayor the possibility of executing a new zonal urban plan is analyzed for this area, where the construction of apartment blocks will be forbidden and the current land (former Gaudeamus cinema) to be capitalized, for the construction of socio-cultural buildings.

It should be mentioned that the demolition works of the cinema are unauthorized, because they are carried out without permissive documents, which expired in March 2020 and another building permit has not been issued.
