The Chisinau City Hall is examining the possibility of opening a new bus route to the city of Singera, in the context of requests from residents and local public administration in the suburb.
The route will connect the Centre sector, Chisinau city and Singera locality via Muncesti street.
Officials from the General Directorate of Urban Mobility of Chisinau City Hall and Singera City Hall, together with those from the "Urban Bus Park" M.I., tested the new route. It is planned that the route will include the streets: Viilor, Orheiului, Aerogarii and Primaverii in Singera, where public transport does not currently operate.
The bus line will also pass near the "Alexandru cel Bun" High School.
While testing the route, municipal specialists have determined that, in order to open the new route, the local administration of Singera must organize certain works on the route, in order to ensure all safety rules for passengers and road traffic.
At present, the municipal suburban bus routes No 18, No 18 A, No 33 and No 44 operate to the town of Singera, Revaca and Dobrogea.
Recently, Chisinau City Hall has launched six new suburban bus routes: Durlesti, Codru, Bubuieci, Truseni (via Dumbrava) and reopened the bus route to Stauceni.
Also, the route of the municipal bus route no. 24 in the village of Colonita was extended, and on route no. 46 the capacity of transporting passengers from Ghidighici was increased by adding an articulated unit.
Chisinau City Hall is constantly identifying solutions, both for improving the quality of municipal public transport and streamlining the flow of passengers.
In the last four years, the municipality has renewed its fleet of buses and trolleybuses with over 300 units. The costs for this purpose were borne exclusively by the municipal budget.
