General Mayor, Ion Ceban, is currently on an official visit to Strasbourg, France, where he is taking part in the work of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, together with other representatives of the Congress of Local Authorities of Moldova (CALM).
On Monday, during the operative meeting of the municipal services, Ion Ceban mentioned that he has several meetings and discussions scheduled in Strasbourg.
“The Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe is the platform where we address issues regarding the rights of local authorities and where we can discuss with European partners about the situation back home”, specified the mayor.
Ion Ceban has prepared several reports for the event in Strasbourg regarding the situation in the country and in the capital. "As the Vice President of CALM and the Mayor of Chisinau, I have prepared reports on various topics. It concerns the current situation of local authorities in the Republic of Moldova and the issues they are facing, as well as the requests my colleagues have."
At the same time, the Mayor intends to inform the Forum about the economic situation of the municipality of Chisinau, about the financial pressures and constraints imposed, as well as about the progress of reforms in the country, including those in the justice system of the Republic of Moldova.
