The Chisinau City Hall informs that the municipal road maintenance services and those of the Municipal Housing and Planning Department have been clearing snow from streets, block yards, parks and alleys in the city since early morning.

Thus, the employees of the M.M. Regia "Exdrupo" have been working since 7 p.m. to prevent the formation of ice on the main and secondary streets where public transport circulates, including the access roads to the suburbs. During the night, 26 specialised machines with ploughs, brushes and skips were used to clear the roads.

At the same time, the Housing and Planning Authority intervened from 01:00 mechanised with 57 machines with blades and skips. A total of 426 workers were mobilised to clear snow from public transport waiting stations, pedestrian crossings, interchanges and accesses to courtyards.

In this context, the municipality is calling on building managers/owners to clear the snow from the areas adjacent to the premises they manage and to remove icicles from the roofs of buildings.

In this way, the municipal authorities urge citizens to exercise caution on pavements when crossing streets in snowy and icy conditions.
