The Chisinau City Hall, together with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research (MECC), intends to strengthen efforts to solve the acute problems attested in the functioning of the municipal education system. The topic was discussed on Wednesday, in an enlarged session, attended by Ion Ceban, General Mayor and Corneliu Popovici, Minister of Education, Culture and Research.
The meeting was also attended by Angela Cutasevici, deputy mayor of the capital, representatives of the sectorial directions of education, youth and sports in the capital, responsible for the educational process at national level, as well as social partners - branch unions at municipal level.
The representatives of the MECC showed openness to collaboration with the profile institutions in Chisinau and agreed on a communication mechanism in this regard, in order to increase the quality of the teaching process.
Also, the parties have decided to set up a working group, which will convene periodically, and will prepare a roadmap that will include: elaboration, efficiency and approval of personnel states (especially in early education institutions; revising the normative framework; for improving the institutional management; combating the phenomenon of corruption and informal payments; implementing policies to change the attitude and creating good conditions in educational institutions; improving the feeding process of children as well as revising the salary of teachers.
In this context, the mayor of the capital mentioned that at present, the municipality is working to identify various opportunities for developing and improving the educational process in the capital. "The kindergarten and the school must be the place where the child feels safe, develops and benefits from a favorable psychological environment. I am fully convinced that together we will be able to solve problems in the education sector and improve the study process, "said Ion Ceban.
