The Chisinau City Hall informs that today 3 underground passages located on the Hincesti highway were solemnly opened after the rehabilitation. Modernization work in the capital's Telecentru sector was started in the fall of 2021 and lasted about 3 months.
Thus, for the repair of the underground pedestrian crossings near the South-West Bus Station, Sos. 143, Hâncești, street, the one on the road. 178, Hâncești, the terminus station of the trolleybuses and near the Ministry of Defense, 86, Hâncești, road from the municipal budget was allocated about 4.5 million lei.
The work consisted of repairing stairs, installing ramps for people with special needs and canopies at the entrances, painting walls and ceilings, installing a lighting system, cleaning the rainwater drainage system.
Ion Ceban, General Mayor who was present at the event, noted that these 3 objects had not been repaired before and were in a deplorable condition. To ensure the comfort and safety of citizens, the municipality decided to repair them in a limited time, since in this area there is an increased flow of people when leaving / entering the city, in the southern direction.
Also, Mayor noted that 3 more pedestrian underpasses in the capital districts of Botanica and Buiucani are in the process of repair. At the same time, municipal services are carrying out work on sealing facilities in the protected zone, which are aimed at preventing the infiltration of rainwater.
It should be noted that over the past two years, 9 out of 20 underground passages have been repaired in the capital.
