Deputy Mayor Angela Cutasevici participated in a working meeting with representatives of People in Need Moldova, where they discussed ongoing projects and opportunities for collaboration to improve the educational infrastructure in Chisinau, emphasizing the importance of developing learning conditions for children and young people in Chisinau.
The following projects are currently underway in the municipal education system: Energy efficiency and renovation of schools and kindergartens:
At the school "Matei Basarab", thermal insulation works of the facade are underway, with a budget of 2.4 million MDL. 20% stage of execution. Also, the replacement of windows is taking place, with a completion rate of 40%,. The estimated deadline for full completion is November 2024.
At the school "Taras Shevchenko" and "A. Russo", in mid-October 2024, it is planned to start the works on replacement of internal lighting, with a budget of about 802 thousand MDL for the high school "A. Russo" and 310 thousand MDL for the high school "T. Shevchenko", with a deadline for completion on November 10, 2024.
A priority for the Chisinau LPA is the creation of new spaces in kindergartens and schools in Chisinau to accommodate refugee children from Ukraine, a critical need in the current context.
It also discussed the extension of energy efficiency projects to other educational and administrative institutions in Chisinau, including the modernization of lighting and heating systems.
The meeting also discussed opportunities to attract new sources of funding for the further development of Chisinau's educational and social infrastructure, as well as other partnerships with international organizations.
This collaboration offers new opportunities for Chisinau to improve educational and social services, contributing to a safer and more modern environment for all citizens.
