Chisinau Municipality represented at the 6th UNESCO International Conference of Learning Cities
Chisinau City Hall informs that from March 1of this year, it is prohibited to park transport units on the streets in the central area of the city, where public transport (trolleybuses and buses) runs. A provision in this regard was signed by Deputy Mayor Victor Chironda.
The ban on parking private cars on the sidewalk and roadway relates mainly to the streets: Stefan cel Mare si Sfint Blvd., A. Pushkin street (on the right side), A. Mateevich street, Metropolitan G. Banulescu-Bodoni, K. Tanase, G. Vieru blvd. and Kiev, street.
The measure comes from the need to ensure the movement of public transport according to the schedule, to increase the comfort of travelling in trolleybuses and buses and for the subsequent arrangement of lanes dedicated to public transport.
By the end of 2020, The General Department for Public Transport and Communications Path will review and amend, road traffic planning projects on each transit road, taking into account the application of the restricted parking regime.
Specialized municipal services will review traffic on the secondary streets and will arrange parking spaces by narrowing/reducing lanes parallel to the direction of travel and the road axis.
