Chisinau Municipality represented at the 6th UNESCO International Conference of Learning Cities
Chisinau City Hall informs that the "Mihai Eminescu" square in the center of the capital will be rehabilitated to pay homage to the great poet and to provide the space for the city's inhabitants. Information in this regard was presented by Inga Ionesii, the deputy mayor during the operative meeting of the municipal services.
A working group within the City Hall examines the possibility of relocating the traders who worked in the "Mihai Eminescu" Square, being identified several variants of location in the conditions when the "M. Eminescu" square is to be rehabilitated. "We will propose several options for the location of the traders. But their activity will not be the same as before. Spaces for trade will be arranged and location permits will be offered for each one ", Inga Ionesii mentioned.
The deputy mayor wanted to specify that the intention of the local authorities is not to stop the activity of the targeted traders, but to create an arts alley with the exhibition of the works of painters, folk craftsmen, as well as souvenirs. At the same time the working group is to propose a concept for the modernization of the "Mihai Eminescu" Square.
In his turn, Ion Ceban, the General Mayor declared that by rehabilitating the square, the local public authorities will pay homage to the poet Mihai Eminescu.
In other news, Inga Ionesii, the deputy mayor mentioned that the authorities are also looking for solutions to relocate the approximately 300 traders who operate on Calea Basarabiei illegally and in the absence of trade permits. At the same time, Chisinau City Hall is examining the possibility of transferring the activity of traders from the makeshift market to an online platform through which they will be able to sell their construction materials.
