Chisinau Municipality represented at the 6th UNESCO International Conference of Learning Cities
All medical staff working in public medical institutions in the capital and trained in the treatment of new-type coronavirus will be tested for COVID-19 infection. Ion Ceban, the General Mayor announced that during the operative meeting of the municipal services on Monday.
The Mayor's request takes place after finding positive results on the COVI-19 test in the case of 15 doctors from municipal public medical institutions out of a total of 416 positive results throughout the republic.
According to the data presented by the General Department of Social Assistance and Health out of the total number of cases confirmed with COVID-19 among doctors 9of them occurred at work, and in the other 6 cases the contamination took place in the community.
The General Mayor considers it necessary to test staff trained in the treatment of patients with coronavirus after attesting cases of COVID-19 infection among doctors in the capital. Ion Ceban specified that the city benefited from a donation of tests will perform the tests among the medical staff starting on Monday, April 13th, 2020, according to an established schedule. The tests from that donation were included in the nomenclature of the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices.
Testing of doctors will begin at the Hospital for Infectious Diseases for Children the first municipal medical institution received patients with COVD-19.
It is worth mentioning that the 1000 tests previously purchased by the municipality intended for the protection of the medical staff trained in first line for the treatment of coronavirus patients will also be used for testing the medical staff.
