The Chisinau Municipality was represented at the World Urban Forum held in Cairo, Egypt
Ion Ceban, the General Mayor of Chisinau participated today in the inauguration event of the #NeamPornit mural in the area under the Telecentru bridge (the intersection of Miorita street with Hancesti road).
The work was carried out within the national campaign to re-launch domestic tourism #NeamPornit and is a symbiosis between the visual identity of the campaign based on the country brand - "Pomul Vietii" and the flora / fauna included in the Red Book of Moldova.
The works were performed by the muralist artist Dmitri Potapov, designated winner of the profile contest, launched by Centru District City Hall.
Ion Ceban, the General Mayor thanked the economic agents who were involved in the implementation of the project, mentioning that the mural painting in the Telecentru neighborhood is a unique work, a tourist concept that celebrates our traditions with authentic unexplored experiences.
"Mural painting is a soul project for the municipality, and the current administration aims to make Chisinau a city where people feel comfortable, not only through infrastructure projects but by giving the city a special beauty. We intend to carry out such initiatives on the exit / entry directions from the city, so we invite all artists, as well as economic agents to come up with ideas for similar projects ", Ion Ceban said.
In this context, Rodica Verbeniuc, the general director of the Investment Agency claims that due to the national #Neampornit Campaign, as a generator of this mural, the number of citizens who visited the tourist areas of Moldova has increased significantly. Thus, since the beginning of the campaign and until now, over 4000 tourists have visited about 700 locations included on the map www.neampornit.map.md.
Also, the painting was illuminated, and video monitoring cameras of the area were installed on the perimeter.
The municipality intends to have thematic fairs or cultural and sports events organized in the area on certain days.
