The Chisinau City Hall has approved the Plan for preventing and combating trafficking in human beings in Chisinau for the year 2021 drafted by the Municipal Commission. A provision in this regard was signed by Mayor General Ion Ceban.
The document provides for the active involvement of Chisinau LPA structural units in developing and implementing anti-trafficking policies, including developing the professional capacity of specialists at the municipal level, in order to effectively promote and increase awareness in all aspects of human trafficking and provide assistance and protection of victims, but also to increase the degree of knowledge among the general public: informing children, parents/ legal guardians about the danger and consequences of trafficking.
In this context, the Mayor General, Ion Ceban, stated that all the objectives and activities included in the Plan for preventing and combating trafficking in human beings will be monitored by the LPA, so that all actors involved can fulfill their stated missions. "It is our duty to raise healthy generations, with children who are safe: at home, at school, in the yard, online, etc. By combining the efforts of all those involved, we can achieve beautiful results on all aspects of the phenomenon, so that in the 21st century we can overcome the situations of abuse, neglect, exploitation and slavery ", mentioned Ion Ceban.
Responsible for the implementation of the provisions of the Plan for preventing and combating trafficking in human beings are: Local Public Administration Department, General Department of Education, Youth and Sports, Municipal Department of Child Rights Protection, General Department of Social Assistance and Health, Culture Department etc.
