Chisinau City Hall informs that on 30 November 2023, at the Buiucani District Hall, public discussions were held on the project  Strategy for the development of internal commerce of the municipality of Chisinau "Trade-2030” and its implementation plan.

The meeting was attended by representatives of markets and fairs in the Buiucani sector: 𝑺𝑹𝑳 "𝑨𝒈𝒓𝒐𝑬𝒖𝒓𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒆𝒕", 𝑺𝑨 "𝑴𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒂𝒍", 𝑺𝑨 "𝑩𝒆ls𝒖𝒈𝒖𝒍 𝑻𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒊", 𝑨𝑶 "𝑬𝒖𝒓𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒍", 𝑨𝒔𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒂 𝒑𝒊𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒓, as well as representatives of the Municipal Centre for Entrepreneurship Development .

The business representatives appreciated the effort made in drafting the Strategy and taking into account the proposals submitted by entrepreneurs.

The participants were presented with the results of the survey conducted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova among traders and consumers, reflecting the problems and expectations of the business environment in the field of local trade regulations.

Discussions at the meeting focused on priority areas such as: simplification of trade procedures, practices of other cities in the field of street trading, the phenomenon of unauthorised street trading, which persists and affects businesses but also poses a danger to consumers.

The participants in the public consultations, representing the private sector and civil society in the Buiucani sector, had the opportunity to dialogue with representatives of the CMC's General Department of Economy, Trade and Tourism and the authors of the Strategy, and submitted proposals that will be included in the table of divergences for analysis and consideration.

By implementing the Strategy, the local authority proposes to achieve the following 3 strategic objectives:

- Ensure an efficient, transparent and predictable regulatory and institutional framework for internal trade;

- Develop modern and accessible trade infrastructure;

- Increase the consumption of local and healthy products;

Strategy for the development of internal commerce of the municipality of Chisinau "Trade-2030”  will contribute to the development of Chisinau as a modern capital city, offering an attractive business climate favourable to the development of domestic trade, managed by a transparent administration that responds promptly and efficiently to the needs of consumers and the business environment, in accordance with international standards and practices.

Public discussions will continue in the framework of the sector prices, according to the following schedule:

Botanica District Hall, 05.12.2023, time: 14:00;

Ciocana District Hall, on 07.12.2023, time: 14:00;

Rascani District Hall, 08.12.2023, time: 14:00.
