The flag of Chisinau

The current version of the coat of arms of Chisinau municipality, made by Master Gheorghe Vrabie, was approved on August 8, 1991 by the Executive Committee of the Chisinau Municipal Council of People's Deputies, which decided to reproduce it, starting with August 31, 1991, on the stamps, bleaches, city badges, urban design and information objects.

The current version is based on the coat of arms of Chisinau municipality introduced by the royal decree of July 31, 1930, with the following official description: "On a blue shield, a golden eagle, with its wings down, looking to the right. Above all: the coat of arms of Moldova. The shield stamped by a mural column with 7 towers, symbolizing seven hills on which Chisinau is located ".

In 1929, King of Romania Carol II conferred to Chisinau for special merits in the national revival of Bessarabia a golden eagle on a blue gothic coat of arms with the crown of the municipality above, and on the chest of the eagle - a bourbon head in a red coat. This coat of arms, prepared by a heraldic commission under the leadership of Paul Gore, was approved as a coat of arms of Chisinau and has not been canceled legally so far neither by Romania nor by the Republic of Moldova.

My City

My city of white stone flowers

In the Sun rains day by day bathing

Always rejuvenating in the old hearth,

From song and love ascended.

My city as beautiful as ever,

My garden with your longing sky,

In my heart I have you all my life

And in the sweetest wheat I adore you.

La la la la...

I like to walk through it slowly

On the streets of linden trees, chestnuts and roses,

Meet school friends

With smile and light in the eyes.

My eternal city as a story,

I always feel your breath in my chest,

My destiny, your destiny is ours

With you everyone is mine.

La la la la...

My white dream!

Lyrics by Gheorghe VODĂ, music - Eugen DOGA
