General Mayor Mr Ion Ceban is currently on a working visit to China in Xi'an. The mayor of the capital met with the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party and representatives of the local public administration.

We remind that Chisinau City Hall signed a twinning agreement with Xi'an City Hall in 2021.

Meanwhile, the municipality received support, including financial support, with the help of the Chinese Embassy in Chisinau, both during the COVID-19 pandemic and during the refugee crisis.

Ion Ceban thanked the Chinese authorities for this help granted to Chisinau.

The city of Xi'an has a population of 13 million and a well-developed infrastructure.

For this reason, the General Mayor said, the Chisinau City Hall remains open to further collaboration.

During the meeting, the Mayor also spoke about the fact that Moldova is a candidate for integration into the European Union: "As I have always said, there are many opportunities for cooperation in various fields", said Ion Ceban.

The Chinese side will bear the travel expenses.
