Chisinau City Hall informs that about 33 600 refugees from Ukraine are currently benefiting from temporary protection on the territory of the municipality. Only in the last week, 346 other citizens of the neighboring state have obtained this status.

The data were presented by Deputy Mayor Angela Cutasevici during the weekly operational meeting of the City Hall services.

About 8000 of the beneficiaries of temporary protection in Chisinau municipality are children. "According to the law, the status of temporary protection gives Ukrainian children refugees the opportunity to study in educational institutions in the Republic of Moldova," the deputy mayor said.

Since the beginning of the school year, 1,353 Ukrainian children have been enrolled in municipal general education schools. At the same time, another 370 children between the ages of 2-7 attend kindergartens in Chisinau municipality.
