The Chisinau City Hall announces the passing of architect Vladimir Modârcă, former director of the Department of Architecture, Urban Planning, and Land Relations (1989 - 1997; 1999 - 2011). The staff of the Chisinau City Hall extends condolences to his family, relatives, friends, and acquaintances of the late architect.
Vladimir Modârcă was a prominent figure in the field of architecture, making significant contributions to numerous urban planning projects in Chisinau over the years. Under his guidance, projects such as the Naval School in Rose Valley Park, the building of the Oncological Institute, the Sun City Shopping Center, the central office of Moldinconbank, and residential areas on Ismail Street, Decebal Boulevard, Mircea cel Batran Boulevard, etc., were executed.
The late architect also served as the president of the Union of Architects of Moldova and was awarded the National Prize in the field of architecture. In recognition of his contributions, he was honored with the title "Om Emerit" (Eminent Person).
Throughout his architectural career, Vladimir Modârcă actively promoted the training of a new generation of specialists in the field of architecture. His involvement contributed to shaping the future of the profession and passing on knowledge to those beginning their careers in this field.

Vladimir Modârcă was born on May 27, 1949, in the village of Cojușna, Strășeni.
