Chisinau City Hall informs that the deadline for public consultation of the draft decision "On the approval and implementation of local taxes for the year 2024" has been extended until 19 January 2024.

The announcement in this regard was made by General Mayor Ion Ceban at the operational meeting of the municipal services on Tuesday, as well as at the request of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova.

The measure was taken in view of the fact that the draft decision has a major economic impact on the business environment, as well as in order to ensure the possibility for participation of all stakeholders in the decision-making process.

Thus, the public consultations will take place offline, within the Chisinau LPA, with the participation of the Association of Foreign Investors in the Republic of Moldova (FIA), the National Association of Restaurants and Leisure Facilities of the Republic of Moldova "MĂR", the Association of Romanian Investors in the Republic of Moldova, the European Business Association, the advisory councils to the Mayor General, as well as other representatives of the real sector.

We also inform that public consultations will be organized on the subject of approval of local taxes 2024 and within the sector prices.

It should be noted that the purpose of the project is to implement the local taxes on the territory of Chisinau municipality for 2024, in accordance with the provisions of art. 288-298 of the Fiscal Code.

The draft decision provides for the implementation of local taxes, their rates and tax concessions on the territory of Chisinau municipality for 2024.

The beneficiaries of the draft decision are legal entities or individuals registered as entrepreneurs who have objects of taxation.

The expected results of the implementation of the decision subject to public consultation are:

• ensuring the predictability of the entrepreneurial activity of economic agents;
• ensuring the principle of fairness (proportionality) in relations between the administrative-territorial unit and the entrepreneur;
• ensuring that local tax payments are correctly calculated and paid into the budget in full.

The expected impact of the draft decision is to ensure the planned payments to the budget from the collection of local taxes.
