Chisinau Municipality represented at the 6th UNESCO International Conference of Learning Cities
Chisinau City Hall informs that a group of 19 persons residing in Chisinau municipality took the oath on Friday to grant or regain the citizenship of the Republic of Moldova, in the presence of the interim General Mayor of the capital, Adrian Talmaci.
Persons granted citizenship of the Republic of Moldova originate from the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Italy, Turkey, Egypt, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Palestine, Jordan, Madagascar and the United Arab Emirates. Of these, 18 persons obtained the citizenship of our state, and 1 person regained it.
Acting General Mayor Adrian Talmaci congratulated the beneficiaries with the new status, which also entails respecting the laws, wishing them to be good citizens and contribute to the prosperity of our state.
Since 2003 and to date, 703 people living in Chisinau have obtained the citizenship of the Republic of Moldova, including 61 in the current year.
In accordance with the legislation in force, in order to obtain or regain the citizenship of the Republic of Moldova, applicants must pass an examination of knowledge of the state language, the history of the state and national law. A special commission from the Government of Moldova examines the file, after which the decree of the President of the Republic of Moldova is issued. Subsequently, the applicants take the oath before the General Mayor of the municipality or the district president
