Chisinau Municipality represented at the 6th UNESCO International Conference of Learning Cities
The Chisinau City Hall informs that on Saturday, October 12, 2024, (10:00-17:00), in the Stefan cel Mare Public Garden of the capital city, the XXIII edition of the Municipal Festival of Ethnic Groups will take place under the theme "Unity through Diversity" - the celebration of multiculturalism and interethnic tolerance.
Folk costumes, traditional dances, thematic exhibitions, opportunities for multicultural dialog, gastronomic delights and many other intercultural offers await all those who wish to get to know the cultures of ethnic communities of the Republic of Moldova.
The event will start at 10:00 with a flower-laying ceremony at the monument of the ruler Stephen the Great and the Holy and a parade of folk costumes, followed by a visit to the Casa Mare, a symbol of our traditional culture, and then the official opening of the Festival at 11:00.
Throughout the day, visitors to the city and those interested in cultural diversity will be able to visit 15 ethnic courtyards presenting ethnocultural specificities and values, the exhibition of handicraft objects, the master-classes in the gastronomic area, where skilled chefs will present a variety of culinary delights of different ethnic groups.
The Festival will be attended by international organizations and diplomatic missions accredited in Chisinau.
The aim of the event is to promote and perpetuate the traditions of ethnic communities, as well as to develop intercultural dialogue and strengthen friendly relations between representatives of different ethnic groups living in Moldova.
