The Mayor of Chisinau Municipality, Ion Ceban, is currently participating in the World Forum of Leaders for Safe Cities and Public Spaces, taking place in Quito, Republic of Ecuador, under the auspices of the United Nations.

During the global meeting for gender equality and women's empowerment, attended by the Mayor along with 56 other mayors and several world leaders, Ion Ceban made a presentation at the Forum. He discussed the situation in Chisinau and the involvement of women in Local Public Administration, as well as in other fields.

In his speech, the Mayor highlighted that more women are employed within the Chisinau City Hall, emphasizing the municipality's commitment to gender equality and zero tolerance for any form of harassment against women.

Chisinau will submit its application to join the Global "Safe Cities" Network with the support of UN Women, with whom the City Hall is involved in several projects for the municipality.

Ion Ceban had discussions and meetings with several mayors and world leaders, proposing that the next event of this kind be organized in Chisinau.
