Chisinau City Hall informs that three strategic municipal hospitals will be rehabilitated within the Project "Energy Efficiency and Thermal Insulation of Public Institutions in Chisinau".
In this regard, the municipality signed today, January 21, the contract with the designated contractor - the company "Amina & S Services", Azerbaijan, which is to rehabilitate medical institutions: IMSP SCM "Sfânta Treime", IMSP SCM "Gheorghe Paladi", IMSP SCM "Valentin Ignatenco".
The contracts will be financed by EBRD / EIB loans with an E5P grant component. The selection procedure was subject to the EBRD's procurement policies and rules.
The works will be carried out during 18 months and provide for exterior insulation activities of the buildings (walls, roof, basement); carpentry replacement; installation of mechanical ventilation systems with heat recovery; replacement of heating systems; installation of the LED-based indoor lighting network; installation of photovoltaic systems for electricity production; installation of solar thermal systems for hot water production; smart metering systems etc.
The rehabilitation works will not affect the work schedule and the activity of the beneficiary institutions.
During the event, the General Mayor, Ion Ceban, mentioned that ecological materials will be used for the works in the targeted institutions, and the expected impact is the energy efficiency of the buildings and the improvement of the conditions in these three strategic hospitals of Chisinau. It is a very important objective assumed by the municipality, and we hope that the success of this project will be a good example for the medical institutions at the level of the republic as well ".
The implementation of the Project "Energy Efficiency and Thermal Insulation of Public Institutions in Chisinau" began two years ago and provides for the renovation and energy efficiency of 23 objectives - 6 kindergartens, 14 high schools and 3 municipal hospitals.
Public institutions have been selected from over 300 targets that generate losses to the municipal budget, through the inefficient use of annual financial allocations for consumption and payment of maintenance bills.
The total value of the project is 25 million EURO and is implemented by the Chisinau City Hall, with the financial participation of development partners: EBRD (10 million loan), EIB (10 million loan) and E5P Energy Fund (donor states - European Union (largest donor), Sweden, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovak Republic) (5 million grant).
