The Chisinau Municipality was represented at the World Urban Forum held in Cairo, Egypt
Chisinau City Hall informs that the project regarding the rehabilitation of the pedestrian area and the illumination of the buildings in the historical center of the capital, in the perimeter of the streets: Maria Cebotari - Alexei Șciusev - Sfatul Țarii - Mihail Kogalniceanu has been completed and the inauguration is planned for the date of October 14, 2019, of the Dedication of the City Day of Chisinau.
The implementation of the project aimed to restore the neighborhood of the historical center of the city to the former image, as well as to provide a modern recreational space to the people passing by.
The initiative on the redevelopment of the pedestrian zone within 4 streets of the historic center of the capital belongs to the Agency for inspection and rehabilitation of monuments, and the draft implementation was elaborated by LLC "Urban Life Projects ".
Infrastructure works were carried out during the reference period: the development of sidewalks (about 2800 m²), the installation of decorative nocturnal lighting (39 pillars for lighting the pedestrian area throughout the perimeter), urban furniture, as well as ramps for persons with reduced mobility, pedestrian crossings, tactile pavement. Also, the facade of the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History in Mihail Kogalniceanu street, 82 was illuminated decoratively (with 64 luminaires).
The works were carried out during the period: July - September 2019 and they cost about 3 million lei, sources provided in the municipal budget for 2019.
