The Chisinau Municipality was represented at the World Urban Forum held in Cairo, Egypt
Today, General Mayor, Mr. Ion Ceban, has hosted a courtesy meeting with H.E. the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Yamada Yoichihiro.
Mrs. Olga Ursu, Mrs. Irina Gutnic and Mr. Ilie Ceban have attended the meeting too.
The two sides have discussed about the currently deploying projects in the municipality, about the transparency in the governance of Local Public Administration, the launch of a development projects and particularly about the project “Start-up for youth and migrants”, but also about the three crises: the COVID-19 Pandemic, the refugee exodus from Ukraine and the regional energy crisis.
General Mayor has extended its gratitude to the head of the Japanese diplomatic mission on behalf of the citizens of Chisinau in regard to the projects that has been implemented with the help of the Japan Embasssy:
- The implementation of KUSANONE program at kindergarten no. 225 of Ciocana district that has rehabilitated the yard and renewed the pavement.
- The support offered by the organizations “Peace Winds Japan” and “Peace Winds Korea” to manage the refugee crisis
- It was signed the agreement of collaboration between the Chisinau Municipality and “Peace Winds Japan” and “Peace Winds Korea” that implies the humanitarian assistance for the municipal placement centers.
Additionally, the Mayor has claimed more initiative of development and intention to extend the relations on other fields, too, exchanging experience, policies and good practices. “We are opened for collaboration between Chisinau and Tokyo, which represents a reliable partner for the municipality” has declared Mr. Ion Ceban.
