The Chisinau Municipality was represented at the World Urban Forum held in Cairo, Egypt
Chisinau City Hall informs that a group of specialists from Turkey will be coming to the capital in the next period in order to evaluate the state of affairs in the municipality and to offer support for the modernization of the main areas of the city' s activities.
This was agreed at the meeting between the mayor, Mr.Ion Ceban and the Mayor of Kocaeli, Turkey, Mr. Tahir Büyükakin. The Kocaeli industrial region has about 2 million inhabitants and makes up 16% of Turkey's GDP.
During the discussions, the parties approched several topics, in particular which are of great interest for the collaboration between the two cities. Thus, it was agreed to conclude a twinning agreement between Chisinau and Kocaeli, which will involve collaboration and partnerships on various fields of activity, including: social, culture, sports, infrastructure, transport, etc.
Also, the topic of discussion was the commercial - economic aspect between the Chisinau's Mayor and the presidents of the Chambers of Industry and Commerce of the Kocaeli region. "We have a major economic potential, so we are ready to cooperate with the Turkish side. We will initiate activities on the exchange of experience and good practices, after which we will come up with a roadmap for the realization of joint projects, "the mayor of the capital said.
We mention that on December 9-12 , the mayor, Ion Ceban, is on a working visit to Turkey.
