The Chisinau Municipality was represented at the World Urban Forum held in Cairo, Egypt
Chisinau City Hall informs that during the past week (30 October - 5 November 2023), road workers in the capital have carried out a series of repair and maintenance works on public roads in the city.
Thus, works were carried out to liquidate damage situations on a total area of about 1,600m² of carriageway, and other areas were prepared for asphalting this week. The road workers have been working on the access roads to the courtyards of residential blocks and to educational institutions, the roads used by municipal public transport and other public roads, as well as on pedestrian pavements in the city's districts.
Particular attention has been paid to the cleaning and washing of streets, underground passages and public transport stations, as well as the cleaning of storm drains after last week's rains.
Some 2150 stormwater catchments were cleaned of silt, leaves and rubbish, and another 25 elements (fountains, grates, covers) were repaired.
In order to ensure traffic safety conditions, work is continuing on the renewal of road markings at pedestrian crossings and at waiting stations, covering a total area of more than 530m², and 50 road signs have been repaired or maintained.
Within the framework of the projects contracted by the Department of Urban Mobility, on the bridge of Mihai Viteazul Street, concrete works were carried out on the marginal beam console and the pavement area at spans 1-2 and 2-3, and on 31 August 1989 Street, landscaping works continued. Also here, work was completed on the application of road markings on areas adjacent to the street.
