The Chisinau Municipality was represented at the World Urban Forum held in Cairo, Egypt
Chisinau City Hall, General Department of Social Assistance and Health and Municipal Department for the Protection of Child's Rights, on the eve of winter holidays, organized visits to several children specialized centers which were left without parental care, but also minors at risk.
On the occasion of Christmas and New Year, Mrs. Angela Cutasevici, the deputy mayor as well as the heads of the relevant departments, congratulated the 38 children left without parental care from the boarding school no. 3, and offered them gifts from the economic agents and municipality.
The Local Public Authorities representatives, visited the beneficiaries of the Street Assistance Service, attended daily by five children. They were given a TV, a washing machine, board games and biscuits. The gifts were purchased by the Chisinau City Hall, together with an economic agent and the biker’s community, which collected donations following a Santa Clause motorcycle parade.
In the context of the winter holidays, the Department for the Protection of Child's Rights distributed gifts to children from the Community House for children with severe disabilities. The children received clothes, toys and sweets.
"Every child expects gifts on the eve of the winter holidays, and those in social centers are no exception. On the contrary, their sincerity and gratitude makes you feel emotional. These children are part of our society and are as good as the others, except that they have less luck" said Deputy Mayor Angela Cutasevici.
The local public administration will continue to pay more attention to children who are at risk, who are practicing begging, vagrancy, prostitution or are users of the toxic substances, narcotic and psychotropic.
