The Chisinau Municipality was represented at the World Urban Forum held in Cairo, Egypt
Chisinau City Hall is in discussions with representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO) and municipal and private medical institutions to increase local government intervention measures to control the spread of COVID-19 infection. A meeting to this end, chaired by the Mayor General, Ion Ceban, with the participation of WHO officials, took place today at the City Hall.
The capital's edile referred to the possibility of the municipal medical institutions acquiring batches of tests for COVID-19, about 500 units, a measure that would lead to greater disease control, as well as the spread of infection among the population.
The parties also discussed the possibility of using the health institutions of Vadul de Voda to isolate people infected with the new type virus. The profile services are to verify the conformity of the said units for the reception of citizens of that risk category.
In their part, WHO representatives noted that the Republic of Moldova is in the group of states where there are no mass infestations. However, specialists continue to insist on citizens complying with doctors' recommendations and remaining isolated, and in case of specific symptoms, to seek help.
In this context, managers of private diagnostic centers have promised to purchase an additional 7,500 tests for greater infection control in the capital.
The Parties agreed to continue discussions with WHO experts on the measures taken by municipal authorities to control contamination by COVID-19.
