The Chisinau Municipality was represented at the World Urban Forum held in Cairo, Egypt
Deputy Mayor of Chisinau Angela Cutasevici met today with Rob Condon, Founder and Executive Director of the NGO Young Scientists Academy of North Carolina, USA.
The guest from North Carolina is in Chisinau in the context of participation in the Moldovan-American School Summit "Connect through Science", which will take place on Saturday, April 27, at the "Ion and Doina Aldea-Teodorovici" High School of Arts. The event will showcase the most successful STEM/STEAM school initiatives in Chisinau and North Carolina.
During the discussions, Angela Cutasevici informed Rob Condon about the need to equip municipal institutions with STEAM labs. On this track, the American guest expressed his openness and willingness to help municipal authorities identify and attract investors to support these projects.
It is worth mentioning that from January to May 2024, Rob Condon is running the "STEM Unites Us" after-school program with the involvement of 28 students from Chisinau municipality in the America House Chisinau Cultural Center.
North Carolina has a rich experience of collaboration with the Republic of Moldova, including the Municipality of Chisinau, which began in 1999, when the first bilateral Memorandum of Intent was signed between the two countries. At the same time, this cooperation is strengthened by the Sister Cities International platform, in the context of the cooperation agreement between the Buiucani sector of the city of Chisinau and the American city of Greensboro (26.09.2000).
