Chisinau Municipality represented at the 6th UNESCO International Conference of Learning Cities
The Chisinau City Hall informs that with the onset of the cold season, the municipal services have intensified the assistance to the beneficiaries of social centers under municipal subordination. Thus, there are now 60 beneficiaries at the Center for Shelter and Orientation for Stable Homeless People, and the number of requests will increase with the decrease of the outside temperatures, and the local authorities will come up with additional measures to support these categories of citizens.
At the same time, the mobile team and social workers have carried out 2865 home interventions for people benefiting from services.
Vladimir Bolocan, deputy head of the General Department for Medical and Social Assistance, Vladimir Bolocan, presented the information on Monday at the weekly operational meeting of Chisinau City Hall services.
With reference to the medical field, the GDMSA responsible informed that the Chisinau municipality is at a fairly good and advanced level of immunization against seasonal influenza, over 90% for risk categories, which has led to a decrease in cases of pneumonia and bronchopneumonia.
Citizens are further urged to get vaccinated against seasonal flu, but also against COVID-19, to prevent illness and overburden on medical staff/medical institutions, respectively.
Mr. Bolocan reiterated the need to re-establish the municipal oncology service in order to improve access to diagnosis and treatment, thus reducing the pressure on the republican institutions.
