On Saturday, September 7, a delegation of mayors from Maramures County, Romania, visited Chisinau City Hall.

The 11 mayors from Maramures county, including the president of the Association of Municipalities from the same county, were received by the deputy mayor of the capital, Mr. Ilie Ceban. The meeting was also attended by the Dean of the Maramures Bar, Florin Andreicut, and the Dean of the Suceava Bar, Liviu Mihai.

"The discussions were centered on the opportunities for twinned localities in the Republic of Moldova and Romania to carry out projects through the absorption of pre-accession funds as well as on the possibility of signing new twinning agreements between municipalities in Chisinau and Maramures", said the Deputy Mayor of the capital.

Ilie Ceban thanked his colleagues for the wooden trophy placed in the Cathedral Garden and donated to Chisinau by craftsmen from Barsana, Maramures.

In their turn, the Romanian mayors were impressed by the changes in the capital in recent years, noting that Chisinau is a green and clean city.
