On Wednesday, during a joint meeting, The officials from LPA Chisinau presented the objectives and prerogatives for the problems of refugees from Ukraine, established on the territory of Chisinau.

The event was attended by: Mrs. Angela Cutasevici - Deputy Mayor; Mr. Andrei Pavaloi - The Head of the General Department of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport; Mrs. Tatiana Oboroc - The Head of the Municipal Department for the Protection of  Child's Rights; UNHCR's Representative - the UN Refugee Agency; UNICEF Moldova; World Vision; UNDP; People in Need, but also other social actors carrying out refugee support projects.

The  Deputy Mayor Angela Cutasevici presented information about the infrastructure projects in the field of education carried out by the municipality recently, about the ongoing projects regarding the expansion of the network of institutions in the field of education, the inclusion of children from refugee families in school and extra-school units, as well as the identification of problems regarding the support/institutionalization of refugee children from Ukraine.

The event aimed to raise awareness among external partners about existing needs in the fields of education, child protection and investment projects.

The topics addressed in the discussion referred to the capacity needs of school and preschool education institutions in the capital, the development of programs designed to facilitate the social inclusion of refugee children studying online, support in replacing staff to help refugee children enrolled in the most requested educational institutions in Chisinau, etc.

The participants in the event agreed on the completion of a joint action plan and the determination of the mechanisms that will literally facilitate the life of refugees established in Chisinau.
