The Chisinau City Hall delegation led by General Mayor Ion Ceban, who is currently visiting the People's Republic of China, had a meeting in Beijing with the Vice President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

The Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries is one of the oldest national people's organizations involved in people-to-people diplomacy in the People's Republic of China.

During the meeting, the delegation from Chisinau mentioned the importance of establishing cooperative relations between communities and realizing the idea of twinning between cities.

"We thanked them for their hospitality and discussed the cooperation relations between China, Moldova and Chisinau", said the Mayor of the Capital, Ion Ceban.

According to Ion Ceban, this cooperation opportunity represents an excellent solution for Chisinau to develop cooperation and promote economic, cultural and social exchanges, including in the field of tourism, as well as to promote numerous social, environmental protection, education, health and infrastructure projects.

It is worth mentioning that Chisinau has signed cooperation agreements with three cities in China: Beijing, Xi'an and Qingdao.
